All Erva deck Hanger clamps open to a full 3-1/2" to accommodate the majority of decks hand rails. Our "Extreme" clamp mount product, the SACLSX clamps onto deck rails measuring up to 5-5/8"! If that doesn't work, we offer hangers that clamp on to vertical ballusters or "spires" from 7/16" square to 1-1/2" square. See our model WIPH or WIPHWD.
